Strengths

It combines the classic pixel-art characters and comedic tone of the River City series with Journey to the West, evoking nostalgia.
It combines side-scrolling brawler action with roguelite-style divine upgrades and build crafting to encourage replayability.
Launching enemies across the screen and the chaotic fun of brawls provide satisfying impact.

Weaknesses

The overall game is short, with some noting that the game and its challenges can be completed in roughly 6–9 hours.
There is insufficient variety in maps and events, and the randomness typical of roguelites is not rich enough.
Combat leans heavily on basic attacks and upgrade combinations, limiting strategic depth and input choices.
