Strengths

It naturally combines RuneScape’s skilling and quest elements with the modern third-person survival crafting genre.
The progression structure of building, crafting, exploration, and growth is rewarding, with satisfaction increasing as players advance through different regions.
It is especially fun with friends and has strong appeal as a cooperative survival game.

Weaknesses

Some PCs experience severe frame drops and stuttering even on low settings, making the game unplayable.
Players have reported becoming trapped in animations or stun-locked during combat and skill use, dying without being able to control their characters.
The world feels empty, with limited NPC activity and dialogue, villages, trading, and currency systems, weakening the sense of a living RuneScape world.

Like all RuneScape games, community is at the heart of everything we do. We've shaped our entire roadmap based on player feedback, leading us to launch dedicated servers earlier than planned, introduce new combat and new quest content. Working together we're continuing to develop RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Whether you're adventuring with friends or going it alone, every opinion matters, and it's up to you to help us shape the future of our game. RuneScape: Dragonwilds started Alpha testing in late 2024, and is launching into Early Access in Spring 2025. From here, our humble team of heroes is developing the project with player feedback at the very core. This Steam Early Access game is currently not a finished game and may or may not change significantly over the course of development.
