Generally positive, but the praise for the story, music, and art only barely offsets the complaints about the combat and repetitive dungeon design. · 74/100

1450 total reviews · 76% positive

Best for Suitable for players who value dark fantasy, tragic narratives, cute female characters with trauma, Japanese-style art, and powerful music. Conversely, it is difficult to recommend to players seeking deep action combat, varied enemies and level design, and efficient progression.

Strengths

Story and character narratives built around an emotional, dark atmosphere
Music by Sakuzyo and an outstanding soundtrack overall
Distinctive Hajime Ueda-inspired art style and appealing character designs

Weaknesses

Combat is simple, lacks impact and responsive controls, and has long recovery animations and lock-on problems
Dungeon and map layouts are repetitive, and navigation is inconvenient
There are too few enemy types and boss designs, with recolored monsters recurring
