The quality of collaborations and use of famous anime and game IPs are viewed positively.
The controls and basic game structure are relatively easy to understand, and some feel that progression is possible without spending money or through extensive playtime.

Weaknesses

Rune farming and material acquisition are excessively repetitive and slow, requiring a great deal of playtime.
There is strong distrust regarding summoning rates and obtaining Light/Dark monsters, along with ongoing criticism of monetization pressure and pay-to-win elements.
Many complain that the Frenzy trigger and luck have too much influence in PvP, with luck and owned monsters deciding matches more than strategy.
