Cao Cao the Legend

Hello, I’m Maeng, the solo developer behind Cao Cao the Legend. The game is still in the early stages of development. Right now I’m focused on building the combat system that forms the backbone of the game and on setting the direction for its 3D art. From here, I’ll keep refining it by taking in your playtest feedback, one piece at a time. Here’s the plan ahead: [Development Roadmap] Chapter 1: Into Battle (Fall 2026 · In Progress): Battle system & map design, 1st Playtest Chapter 2: Growth (Winter 2026): Leveling & progression system, 2nd Playtest Chapter 3: Story & Branches (Early 2027): Scenarios & territory building, 3rd Playtest Early Access (First Half of 2027): Early Access launch And Beyond: Full release, more scenarios * The schedule is subject to change depending on development progress and playtest feedback. Follow the game and add it to your wishlist to get updates as soon as they’re out. Having you along for the journey means a lot to me. I hope you’ll join the 1st Playtest, too. Thank you! Maeng The Villainous Hero of a Chaotic Age — The Three Kingdoms, Retold Through Cao Cao’s Eyes From the Yellow Turban Rebellion to the unification of the realm. Cao Cao the Legend is a 3D turn-based tactical RPG in which you lead Cao Cao and his generals, build up your army, and make your own choices at every turning point in history. Command your forces on historically faithful battlefields and shape the story of the Three Kingdoms alongside Cao Cao. Master the Terrain on a Hex Grid Each general's movement range depends on their troop-type aptitude. Send cavalry sweeping across the plains to hit the enemy's flank, post archers on high ground to pick off targets, and hide infantry in the tall grass to evade attacks. The same army can win or lose depending on where you put it. Pair Generals with Strong Bonds for Chain Pincer Attacks While Xiahou Dun pins the enemy down from the front, Xu Chu strikes from behind. The stronger the bond between your generals — and the more allies you have at the enemy's back — the higher the chance of a pincer attack. Raise the odds even higher with skills and traits, and you can chain attacks together to wipe out an entire enemy unit in a single turn. Position and Formation Decide the Fate of the Realm Where you station your generals, which way they face, when you shift formation to set up a pincer — on Cao Cao's battlefield, a single tile or a single change of facing can decide victory or defeat. A Tutorial with Yul: Learn to Read the Battlefield On his first campaign, Cao Cao is joined by Yul, a talent from Yingchuan recommended into his service. Follow her lead as you form your ranks and adjust your facing, and before long, it will all feel like second nature. Your first battle awaits. Annihilate Your Enemies with Dazzling Skills Once your formation is set and your troops are in place, Cao Cao's decisive move awaits. Strike the enemy's weak points with each general's unique skill and shatter even the most impregnable lines in an instant. A Battlefield Painted in Ink Backgrounds where ink bleeds across the canvas, skill effects that burst in ink-brush strokes, and dozens of generals rendered in a semi-realistic style. Cao Cao the Legend brings the spirit of the classic Three Kingdoms to modern 3D tactics. Every scene on the battlefield is a painting in its own right. Follow History, or Change It? At every pivotal moment in history, Cao Cao stands at a crossroads. Follow the true course of history, and the Three Kingdoms you know unfolds. Choose another path, and an alternate Three Kingdoms — one no chronicle has ever recorded — begins. ※ This store page and the in-game text were translated from Korean using generative AI.
