Strengths

It modernizes the graphics and controls while preserving the original's nostalgic appeal.
The platforming action and collectibles are fun, making the overall gameplay enjoyable.
Boss battles are more varied and newly designed compared with the original, with some bosses offering a challenging yet well-balanced experience.

Weaknesses

Difficulty rises sharply after Spooky and in the postgame, with some sections feeling artificially difficult.
There are no checkpoints during boss battles, forcing players to restart difficult fights from the beginning.
The final section requires players to fight enhanced bosses consecutively again, which can feel burdensome.
